Disneyland Grand Hotel

Have you stayed at the Disneyland Resort hotels? What would u reommend?

I know that the Grand Californian is the most money, and Paradise Peir is least expensive, with the Disneyland Hotel falling in the middle. But if you have stayed at more than one, is it worth paying more money for the others? We are only going to be there 2 nights, but I am not sure how to go about selecting a hotel. We have stayed at the budget hotels before, which I enjoy, but this is a special trip for my daughters 5th b-day. If you can comment on the use of the monorail to get into the park vs walking and the distance of the monorail from the parks, that would be very helpful. Thanks so much. I got a few responses when I posted this question yesterday, but I would really like to get more responses.

Okay here is my two cents. When we go we go on my son’s birthday in October. My wife and I have always agreed that we would stay in a Disney hotel but not at the high end (price) ones like the one you mentioned.

You have to ask yourself are you going to enjoy the Disney experience or spend the time by the pool. We have Friends that go and they spend the bulk of their time by the pool due to the fact that rides effect them badly.

When my wife and son go we relay only shower, sleep, and change our clothes in the hotel and the rest of the time were in one of the parks. We only use the pool at night.

So before you decide I would do a sit down with your family put a Disney Vacation planning guide (it is available from Disney and comes in DVD) and then make a choice. By the way the monorail is nice but you still beat your feet.
